Odds & Ends

When I was in grad school, I played in a garage rock band and we played a cover of Bob Dylan’s “One More Cup of Coffee”. I decided to record a version of it on my own, adding in some of my own flair. It’s the first time I’ve really recorded my vocals, and it’s rough, but it could be worse.

“…And the Rhyme Spilled from My Lips Like Poison (Down Low, Too Slow)” is an experiment in sampling. It’s pretty rough, so I only have this demo. Eventually I’d like to re-record it, but until then, this is what I’ve got.

This is a demo of an older song I wrote probably around 2018 or so. It’s more industrial in nature and the mixing sucks, but I’ve yet to get around to making a finished version of the song. So here’s the demo for “Dance of the Titans of Industry”.

This is a demo of an old song, the East Iowa Death March, that my old band Assault Company played. I keep playing with the idea of writing new Assault Company stuff, and one day I decided to try to kick it off by recording a demo of this song, which I’d originally written sometime around 2006.

I played in a band in Des Moines for a little bit before I had kids. We played really bad covers of 90s and 00s songs. I’m not much of a vocalist (hence the instrumental music), but here’s a clip from our only show–a basement performance at a party.

When I lived in Mankato I played in a post-metal band called Deerhead. Kind of a Red Sparowes/ISIS/Pelican vibe. I played bass and had a blast doing it.

The final song off the last Assault Company EP.
